Arma
Penetrating Adjuvant
|
|
|
| Arma is a blend of a patented fatty
amine polymer derived from oilseed rape combined with a sugar-based
surfactant. These two major components
each have specific roles to play, although their actions are synergistic:
Alkoxylated fatty amine
The modified fatty-amine polymer provides adhesive properties and ensures
that the pesticide penetrates efficiently and rapidly through the wax
and cuticle layers into the plant system (usually within 1/2 hour).
Polyoxyethylene monolaurate
The sugar-based surfactant provides excellent spreading and wetting properties,
giving improved distribution of the spray droplet over the plant's leaves
and assists penetration as well.
Arma also contains a buffer, which gives a neutral spray medium (circa
pH 7.0) to reduce the risk of hydrolysis in the spray tank. Arma gives
excellent results with both contact & systemic pesticides.
KEY BENEFITS OF USING
ARMA
- independently proven to be an excellent performer
with both strobilurin and triazole fungicide chemistry - improving both
yield and MARGIN/HA;
- improves the activity of herbicides against larger
weeds, especially those which are difficult to control, and can help
to widen the 'effective window' of application;
- enhanced PGR performance, especially at cooler temperatures
(@4oC);
- broad spectrum of activity 'Across the Tank-Mix',
especially with T1 and T2 sprays;
- excellent activity at low temperatures;
- improves the placement and penetration of crop protection
products, ensuring rainfastness;
- excellent user safety profile - NOT subject to COSHH
assessment -
plus it's SAFE TO THE CROP, especially in large multi-way tank-mixes;
- ensures maximum performance in tough conditions;
- cost effective.
WHERE TO USE ARMA
Arma is the unique placement and penetrating adjuvant
for use in particular with:
- cereal fungicides, especially with strobilurins
(Acanto, Amistar, Opera, Twist, etc.) & triazoles (Alto, Caramba,
Folicur, Opus, Pointer, Tilt etc.), where lower rates are used;
- cereal herbicides, especially with sulfonylurea
chemistry such as Ally, DP 911, DP 928, Eagle, Harmony, Monitor,
Quantum, etc. (to aid control of larger weeds and those difficult-to-control);
- cereal plant growth regulators (e.g. 3C, 5C, Cerone,
Meteor, Moddus and Terpal), especially when sprays are applied early-on
in cold temperatures;
- oilseed rape triazole fungicides (e.g. Caramba,
Folicur).
- Arma may also be used on a wide variety of other
crops, such as linseed (e.g. with Ally), potatoes (e.g. with Titus),
grassland situations (e.g. with Starane and Doxstar), etc.
- Arma can be a replacement for standard non-ionic
wetters such as Agral, as well as other penetrants, such as LI-700.

| USE
In winter and spring cereals:
- for use with all approved herbicides and tank mixtures
containing such products applied at full or reduced rate and all approved
timings.
- for use with all approved fungicides, plant growth
regulators and insecticides applied at full rate up to and including
G.S. 52 (1/4 inflorescence), and at half the approved pesticide rate
thereafter.
In other crops:
- for use with all approved pesticides applied at
full rate up to and including the following crop growth stages, and
with
all approved pesticides applied at half the approved pesticide rate
thereafter:
| |
To be applied at or before the following
crop growth stages:
|
| Beans |
up to and including first pod
set (EPPO code 204) |
| Peas |
up to and including flat pod
(EPPO code 205) (non-edible pods only) |
| Edible podded peas |
up to and including pod set (EPPO
code 204) |
| Oilseed Rape |
up to and including 10% potential
pods (code 5.1, Sylvester-Bradley, 1985) |
| Linseed |
up to and including 10% capsules
formed (code 51, Freer 1991) |
| Sugar Beet |
up to and including 6 fully

- for use with approved pesticides at up to full rate
application in non-crop, amenity and forestry situations.
Arma also has authorisation for use with all approved pesticides applied
at half the approved pesticide rate in all crop and non-crop situations.

| RATES OF
USE
Arma should be used at a rate to give a 0.1-0.15% dilution
of the final spray volume. For example:

| MIXING
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and commence
agitation. Add the recommended quantity of Arma. Then add the recommended
quantity of plant protection product and the remaining balance of water
whilst maintaining agitation throughout. If foaming occurs, the addition
of Abate (a de-foamer) may be beneficial.
